 Friable asbestos in school is NOT a health concern?

Letter: School Committee Member Urges Voters Not to Pass School Bond - North Kingstown, RI Patch: "Although there was an absence of testing to determine if there was an air quality problem due to friable asbestos, I assume it was because it was determined it not a health concern."

Why this is the wrong decision.  Asbestos and demotion removal should not be done while children and adults are present.  "Safe" conditions only apply to healthy, adult male workers of the company doing the work.  Children and adult bystanders are left unprotected from hazardous substance by the US government. We detected 55 compounds, indicating a wide range of exposures from common products. Vinyl products contained >10% DEHP and could be an important source of DEHP in homes. In other products, the highest concentrations and numbers of detects were in the fragranced products perfume, air fresheners, and dryer sheets, and in sunscreens.
